Made by artists.
Worn by fans.
Founded in 2015 by Dutch design studio Kern, The League Extraordinaire brings together internationally acclaimed artists and football culture — one scarf, once a year, never made again.

A different
kind of scarf
The League Extraordinaire is a football scarf project that was established in 2015 by Dutch design studio Kern. Every year four of Kern's favorite artists are invited to join The League Extraordinaire (TLE).
The goal has always been the same: to make it possible to own a wearable piece of work by an artist you admire, in a small, limited and numbered run.
The number of scarves produced is limited to a one time run for which fans need to pre-order, with a minimum of 60.

One Group,
once a year
Every season, four artists join as one shared Group — four completely different practices, one edition together. Each scarf is numbered and produced only once, in a run sized to how many fans pre-order.
No reprints, no restocks. Once a season closes, that Group is history — which is exactly the point.

Made to last
a winter — or a lifetime
The scarves are made from high quality yarn. The type of scarf that both hooligans and members of VIP lounges wear to show their club-love.
Every scarf is produced in the EU in a single run, sent in a solid carton box that fits through a standard letter box, tagged with a numbered edition-label.
9 seasons.
33 artists.
From Dutch icons to international legends, more than thirty artists have joined The League Extraordinaire since Season 1 — each bringing a completely different practice to the same shared edition.
Kern
The League Extraordinaire is initiated by Dutch design studio Kern. We are five graphic designers who think they have the greatest job in the world, apart from pro football players. Our big affection for art and football led to the start of The League Extraordinaire.
